Cha LiCo-Founder and Managing General Partner

Cha Li is Founder and Managing General Partner of Dragonvest Partners, LP. He has more than seventeen years of international business experience in the US, Europe and Asia, eight years of which involves direct experience in China as an investor and an entrepreneur. Cha Li specializes in the emerging wireless, digital media and Internet sectors in China.

Cha Li was one of the first students who left China to study in the West after the Cultural Revolution. After his graduation, he has worked in international media companies such as Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide and ZiffDavis before he started his own business in New York City. His first US start-up company, EastWest Communications, Inc. was an advertising company that helped numerous US multinationals expanding into Asia. As a serial entrepreneur himself, Cha Li has founded and run several companies in search engine technology, eLearning, online music and mobile gaming before he became a venture capitalist.

Cha Li was educated at the National Academy of the Arts in China, where he received a B.A. and the University of London, where he received an Master degree. He was also the founding Chairman of the Chinese Overseas Student Association in Europe.

Mr. Zhongrui Xia has more than 30 years experience in IT area, from the beginning of being responsible for building of Shanghai governmental computer system and promoting information technologies in 1984.

He was responsible for planning of Shanghai Information Port, designing policies and implementing the construction of information application projects, as a Director of Information Office of Shanghai Municipal Government in 1995.

Mr. Xia was also responsible for supporting and coordinating Hua Hong NEC project, which was China’s first 8 inch semiconductor processing line, as Director of Shanghai 909 Project Office.

After being appointed as President of Shanghai Hua Hong Micro-Electronics Corporation in 1998, Mr. Xia started Hua Hong Design Corporation, acquired Beiling Semiconductor Company and Jitong Intelligent-Card Company. Mr. Xia was the first President of Hua Hong Group after he organized Hua Hong Group.

Wen Chu, CEO, Great Wall Club

As a serial entrepreneur in mobile Internet, Wenchu successfully sold his 1st company to a Nasdaq listed company in 2004. He founded Moabc in 2005, and made it as a leading mobile community with +10 million users. Great Wall Club was founded by Wenchu in Mar.2008. He speaks Chinese, and English.

Winston Choe, Intel

Winston Choe is currently the Tablet Ecosystem Director in the Intel Netbook and Tablet Group, where he
manages development of the ecosystem through engagements with key-customers, strategic-partners,
venture-ecosystem, and new market-development. His background covers 20 years in the Mobility,
Communications, Software, and Services industries, where he has developed businesses at startup ventures
and multinational-corporations across the US and Asia.

Winston founded three software ventures in business-networking, mobile cloud-computing and networked-
multimedia, which he developed from concept to commercialization. Prior to joining Intel, he was the Founder
at Confidantly, a business-networking software company where he established the team, completed product-
development, and launched Beta services through online, social and affiliate-marketing. Previously, Winston
has managed sales and business-development organizations in the HP Handheld, Nokia Mobility, Sun
Consumer Mobile, and DEC Global Services groups where he managed carriers, strategic-partners, and new
market-development.

Joe Jasin

Joe Jasin has built an international career within the wireless telecommunications and digital media distribution industries, establishing a cross-border depth of USA – Asia experience that includes: mobile internet, venture capital, and corporate development.
He currently serves as Managing Director of DNA Investment Partners, LLC an early stage venture investment firm.  DNA is investing in companies based in the USA and China, industries centric to IP Communications and Digital Media Distribution.
He recently served as Vice President of Corporate Development for SK Telecom, in Seoul Korea. Joe Jasin is also the founder of ICE Wireless, Wireless Blueprint.  Prior to those activities, he was at Sprint/Nextel as a Director of Product and Business Development. Vivien Wang has over 12 years of public accounting and international tax experiences, providing tax consulting, compliance and tax accounting assurance services to various high-tech and venture capital clients. As Betable’s Founder and CEO, Christopher E. Griffin has four years of gambling and gaming experience. Chris drives Betable’s vision, innovation, strategy, product direction and business development. Chris began his career as a venture capitalist at VB, LLC, where he created hundreds of millions of dollars of value. He has raised $60M over his career, including $43m for a medical device company in one of the largest Series A rounds in medical device history. Damien Patton, Founder and CEO at Banjo

As a four-time entrepreneur, Damien has built his career on making ideas a reality. A powerhouse of energy and innovation, Damien has spent the last several months building Banjo, a social discovery service where people can discover and connect with those around them regardless of where they are, who they know or what social networks (if any) they belong to.

Damien can often be found speaking at conferences on subjects ranging from social media to online accessibility. Ajay Mishra, Co-Founder and Chief Customer Officer, MobileIron, Inc.

Before MobileIron, Ajay co-founded enterprise wireless pioneer, Airespace (acquired by Cisco for $450M in 2005). He defined the initial product requirements for the company’s products, working hand-in-hand with 20 teaching customers. Ajay also chaired the WLAN-Mobile Convergence (WMC) task force within the WiFi Alliance and launched two new WMC certifications. Ajay is a frequent speaker on mobile convergence and its implications for the enterprise.

Before Airespace, Ajay ran product management for the Cisco Mobile Office Network (MNET). He integrated the acquisitions of JetCell and Exio, built the products team, and successfully launched the Cisco MNET solution at GSM World Congress in 2001. Ajay started his career as an engineer at Motorola, where he was part of the team that designed the world’s first commercial GSM handset in 1990. He was also instrumental in developing Motorola’s first CDMA handset in 1993.

Ajay has an MS in Computer Science from the University of Southern Mississippi and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Raymond Wei, Co-founder & CEO, Weaver Mobile, Inc.

Raymond is a technology veteran in Silicon Valley. Joining Netscreen Technologies in its early times, he was one of the key contributors to the company’s phenomenal success, going public in less than four years. Raymond served as Director of Advanced Systems when Juniper acquired Netscreen. He later served as CTO and VP Engineering at Topsec Networks, Beijing. After investing and getting deeply involved an internet startup, he developed strong interests in internet technologies serving consumers. In April 2011, he co-founded Weaver Mobile with two former Netscreen colleagues, developing mobile applications.

 

Weaver Mobile’s first product is WeConnect, a mobile application to facilitate interactions and communications in real-world social events. Specifically serving the scenarios where online social and offline social intertwine, it strives to solve the problem where event goers rely on multiple tools and social platforms for their typical actions on an event, such as, to preview attendee information, exchange contact information, keep notes, and follow up with people.  WeConnect allows event goers to smoothly interact and communicate with other attendees in a seamlessly integrated environment, eliminating the need to go in and out of disparate set of social tools and to synchronize information among them.
